About me
I am Sander Brouwers, a 25 year old programmer from The Netherlands. I studied at Breda University of Applied Sciences (Previously NHTV) and since July 2019 have a Bachelor of Science in Creative Media and Game Technologies.
At 13 years of age I became curious about making games and got started with GameMaker 6. From there on my interests spiraled out of control. I wanted to go beyond the limits of GameMaker and started exploring C and C++ using libraries like Allegro. From there engine and graphics development also got my attention resulting in various C++ and DirectX based projects created from scratch.
At the same time I worked on a high school project regarding robotics development for the First Tech Challenge. This taught me various new engineering skills and real world programming applications. Based on this project I received two additional certificates at my graduation: Winner of the Bèta-Contest 2013 and a Performance Award for Physics.
After high school I followed a game development course at GameSkool to further expand my skill set and received the certificate in 2014. By now I was well prepared for the International Game Architecture and Design intake assessment at Breda University of Applied Sciences (Previously NHTV) which was one of my main goals. During the IGAD course at BUAS I learned to work in teams ranging from 3 to 40 people and deliver high quality work. Some examples:
